- Take time to take in some natural light. Open the blinds, eat your breakfast or lunch outside, or go for a quick walk. Even just 5 minutes can perk you up more than that morning cup of coffee.
- Dress to impress. . . YOU. Don’t you feel better when you wear clothes that you feel good in? I know I do. The better I look, the happier and more confident I become. In a funk? Try some bright colors or your favorite fabric to give you an instant boost. Bonus tip: If you normally are stressed about what to wear in the morning, try picking out your clothes the night before. You may change your mind in the morning, but at least you have a starting place.
- Do something nice for someone else. Pay the tab for the person in front of you in line at lunch, give up your seat on the train, text someone you haven’t chatted with in a while, or donate to a charity you don’t usually support. Putting positive energy out in the world will not only make you happier, but you will also make someone else’s day, Besides, you may just get some positive energy in return.
