Here are 3 ways to have a great week . . .
Set yourself up to achieve what you want to …

- Assess where you are. Most of us have had to do a self -evaluation as part of our performance review at work But, have you ever done one for the rest of your life? A life assessment is essential because it allows us to take stock of where we are today, how we feel about it, and if need be, to identify any areas we would like to change. To do a life assessment we may ask ourselves questions such as :
Am I happy or just satisfied?
Is there something I would like to do that I would regret not having done?
Is there something else I want out of life?
Digging deep and answering questions such as these as honestly as we can will only serve to make us able to live a more fulfilled life. Now, if you do this and find that you are living you best life, and have no need or desire to do anything else, or change your perspective in any way, GREAT! If not, then read on.
- Plan what you need to do. Author, aviator and poet Antoine de Saint-Exupéry once said that "A goal without a plan is just a wish." A true statement because no matter what it is - lose weight, get a promotion, climb Mount Everest or even make Beef Wellington for dinner - if the steps required to get from where you are to where you want to be are not laid out, then there is a greater chance you will never reach your desired destination. Now, although takeout pizza is not necessarily a bad alternative to Beef Wellington, the negative feelings of stress and disappointment that may occur during the next 2 weeks as the delectable pastry encrusted meat has yet still to grace your table is.
- Step in that direction. Everything has a beginning, and what we want will only become a reality if we decide to act upon it and take that all important first step, no matter how uncertain or scared we are. All that matters is we just take it. Once we make that step, we have accomplished something, no matter how small. This accomplishment will fuel our motivation, progress will become easier and our goal becomes more attainable. Think about it. . . can you make Beef Wellington without the recipe, the ingredients and the time required? Unless you are a professional chef, not likely, and even then you would still need ingredients and time.
REMEMBER . . . YOU GOT THIS!
