Blast Radius: Shrapnel, shards and scars from the lies I lived

Some stories ask to be told quietly.

Mine didn’t.

Blast Radius begins where certainty ends — with the kind of truth that shatters what you thought you knew and leaves you standing in the wreckage, wondering what was real, what was not, and how you begin again.

I wrote Blast Radius because some stories do not stay quietly in the past.

In the summer of 2009, my then-husband was sentenced to prison, and the life I thought I knew blew apart. What had looked stable and successful from the outside was, in reality, built on lies I did not yet understand — lies that would leave consequences far beyond what anyone could see.

But this book is not only about what happened.

It is about the aftermath.

The shock. The shame. The questions no one else could answer. The slow realization that the life you were living was not the life you thought you had chosen. And the painful, necessary work of figuring out who you are when the truth changes everything.

Blast Radius is the story of betrayal, survival, and the wreckage left behind when someone else’s choices alter the course of your life. It is also the story of what it takes to stand in that wreckage, face what is real, and begin again.

I wrote this book for anyone who has ever questioned their own judgment, replayed the past looking for signs they missed, or wondered how to move forward after trust has been shattered.

My hope is that, somewhere in these pages, you feel less alone.

This is the story of the lies I lived — and what it took to survive them.

THE STORY BEHIND THE STORY

Author Talks

Author Talks are a meaningful extension of my writing and one of the ways I most love connecting with audiences.

Centered around Blast Radius, these conversations go beyond the page to explore the deeper themes behind the book: deception, resilience, self-trust, identity, and the difficult work of rebuilding after what was hidden comes to light. It is a free space for open discussion. What happens at the Author Talk stays at the Author Talk.

These talks are well-suited for book clubs, libraries, bookstores, literary events, podcasts, community groups, and audiences interested in personal growth, healing, resilience, and the human experience.
