- Complete the Hardest Thing You Need To Do First. You may want to put off whatever you find challenging or anxiety producing until later, much later. But, the sooner you complete that task, the less stressed and more accomplished you will feel. And with that off your plate, imagine how empowered you will feel to accomplish everything else that you need to do.
- De-clutter, dare I say Clean, Your Space. Stuck trying to come up with something? They say a messy desk is the sign of a genius. However, have you actually consistently successfully tried to create or accomplish anything in the middle of a mess? You may once in a while, but usually instead of the creative juices flowing towards accomplishment, you focus is on the myriad of things you are surrounded with or even just the idea that you need to "get organized". Instead, take 5 minutes and actually get organized. You may help to remove the blocks to your creativity, feel more accomplished and much more in control of things. I know it helps me! - Pace Yourself. As humans, we tend to watch clocks, follow schedules, rush to beat deadlines and make it to our destinations. But, at what cost? You can still get your project done in time, or make it to the meeting on time, even if its not 10 minutes or 10 days early. I am in no way encouraging procrastination or tardiness; however I am encouraging . . . slowing down to breathe, slowing down to drive a bit safer, taking a 5 minute break to collect your thoughts and doing a task at a pace that you do it right the first time. It may take you a few moments more to do what you need to do, but it will save you time and energy in the long run.
